1. In each graph the green line represents out probe that was recording the temperature from within the bottle. The red line represents the probe that was not in the bottle but was exposed to light while the blue line represents the probe that was not exposed to light at any point. Our first trial graph shows characteristics of a steady incline in the temperature for both probes recording temperature in sunlight. The green probe recorded much higher temperatures though than the red even thought both were exposed to sunlight. The same can be said for all trials recorded, no matter whether it was just air, water or CO2 the bottled temperature was continuously higher. When each trial reached the point to remove exposure from the light , trial one experienced steady decline in temperature, trial two experienced a slightly faster decline in temperature and trial three showed results of the fastest decline in temperature.
2. In trial three with the bottle containing CO2 showed a temperature rise the fastest, this is due to the to the infrared light reflecting off the water and being adsorbed by the CO2 contained within the bottle, this reaction trapped more energy within the atmosphere of the bottle, heating the atmosphere and the surface of the water.
3. The bottle containing CO2 experienced the most rapid decline in temperature.
4. The major green house gases are ozone, carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. The most important greenhouse gas is water vapor.
5. Global warming is a type of climate change that directly refers to the increase in temperature of earth on a global scale. The greenhouse effect is a result of climate change. Global warming occurs when the heat that enters the atmosphere through short wave radiation, heats the surface and is supposed to exits as long wave radiation doesn't. Due to the increase in greenhouse gases heat is being adsorbed causing an increase of long wave radiation that cannot pass through the atmosphere creating a warming effect.
6. Venus is hotter than mercury due to the fact that one of the main gases making up Venus' atmosphere is carbon dioxide, which adsorbs the UV rays and heats the atmosphere of Venus.
7. The industrial revolution was significant to the development of global warming due to the creation of factories that spewed pollutants, the increase in living standards allowed for more population creating more needs, allowing for more factories to be made, thus creating a cycle of eternal needs and pollution.
8. The ten hottest years on global average have been: 2014, 2010, 2005,1998, 2013, 2003, 2006, 2006, 2009, 2007. If this trend continues we could experience continuous melting of the ice caps, causing the sea levels to rise, climate change will cause unnatural weather, such as droughts, hurricanes, floods and heat waves, that will not only impact animals, but humans too. These climate changes could impact myself personally because of the California drought we are already experiencing the results of global warming and if these impacts continue we could be looking at distastes on a global scale.
